Its That Time Again to Prepare for Camp! (Scroll ALL the way down to the bottom of the letter from the pastor for camp packet.)
Our theme this summer will be "Ride for the Brand!" We are preparing our youth to represent Christ.
I am pleased to announce that the camp dates are July 31st- August 5th this summer and that the camp fees remain unchanged. $55.00 per camper and $30.00 per councilor. Bro Fred Mathews and Samson will be ministering to the juniors and Bro Bo Smith will be preaching to the teens. All of the forms are downloadable at the bottom of this page.
We had a great time with our military theme last year with marching! This year the kids are to present church brands and lullabies. Lullaby and brand should be original. Churches may use melodies from other lullabies, but should have all original wording. It will be exciting to see what the kids come up with and to see each church's creativity.
Bro. Fred Mathews will be acting as the camp director this year. Sister Kim is having surgery the week of camp, and he needs to stay back in order to be there for her during this time. They will both be sorely missed. However, They would love nothing more than for this to be the best camp year we have ever hosted. So lets not let them down!
The Kitchen is introducing a salad bar for counselors and kids 12yrs old and up. Younger campers can also eat from salad bar with the assistance of a counselor, teen older 16yrs and older or parent. The kitchen has also revamped the menu that keeps the old favorites and adding in some new items. The kitchen will be completely peanut free. If you have a camper with a severe allergy other than nuts please let Sister Cindy know before July 12th so that we can plan for that on the days that it will be needed. These need to be allergies and not preferences. We try to accommodate many dietary needs, but in order to keep camp cost down we can only be particular about actual allergies.
Crystal Springs Youth Camp is an evangelistic camp with an emphasis on the salvation of souls. We bring and ask other churches to bring kids, churched and unchurched, this is why or how we see so many come to The Lord at this camp. I can't over stress my desire that churches just go out and gather up any, and I mean any, kids they can and bring them to camp. One of the greatest camps in my life was one we put together when I pastored in Ashland OR. We went through the streets of Medford and gathered up a hand full of kids and took them for a week to our camp. They were a rough bunch! But, Oh the difference God made in them under the preaching of His Word by Bro. Joe Carter and and the love the workers showered them with. We see God do it every year and know this year will be no different. I beg my fellow pastors and our sister churches to get in on these blessings.
